Leroy Fer has been ruled out for up to ten weeks.

The news will come as blow to QPR who had been relying on their Dutch centre mid to help drag them out of their relegation dog fight.

The player was in fine form in the side’s 2-0 win over Sunderland last night , scoring the opening goal, but a Tweet from the club has now confirmed he could miss up to three months with medial ligament damage. He was subbed off with 15 minutes remaining.

Fer has played 26 times for Rangers this season, scoring four goals in all competitions.
