The 29-year-old has failed to make any significant impact on the field at Old Trafford, scoring just four times in the Premier League, and spending most of his time on the bench having not won the trust of boss Louis van Gaal.

The Times have reported the shocking figure that the Red Devils will eventually part with when his loan spell expires in the summer, and it doesn’t make for happy reading.

The initial loan fee from AS Monaco was £7.9m – however after tax, wages, and other costs have been added – the price soars to an incredible £25.6m – for just one season with the Premier League giants.

To add insult to injury, it’s reported that the club could lose even more money with £59.7m signing, and £11.96m annual earner, Angel Di Maria apparently wanting out – and Paris Saint-Germain ready to pounce on the Argentine’s misery.
