It was fantastic spectacle from start to finish, with both sides playing open, attacking football and passions running high. Chivas took the lead, but Atlas fought back, ultimately missing a 95th minute penalty which would have sealed all three points.

Atlas almost took the lead inside 5 minutes after some confusion in the defence:
But Chivas drew first blood when Omar Bravo gave them the lead after ten minutes:
