TuttoMercatoWeb claims the Red Devils are willing to battle the La Liga heavyweights for the Portugese youngster, even though he is currently on loan at the Spanish club.
The 20-year-old has made 13 appearances for Valencia this term at left-back, picking up three yellow cards and one dismissal in the process.
He worked his way through the youth ranks at Benfica before catching the eye at youth level for the national side, bringing him to the attention of visiting scouts.
The switch to La Liga at the start of the 2014-15 campaign was viewed as a step up and a sterner test of his credentials.
Should he end up at Old Trafford he would provide competition for the likes of Luke Shaw and Daley Blind at left full-back or wing-back, depending on the tactics used by manager Louis van Gaal.
