Real Madrid could be set to rival Chelsea for the signing of Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette in the next transfer window, as they consider letting Karim Benzema go.

The French international is a top talent who shone in Ligue 1 last season, scoring 31 goals to establish himself as one of the breakthrough performers of the season.

This saw Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and other big names show an interest in him, but it now looks like he could be Benzema’s replacement at the Bernabeu, according to Fichajes.net.

Benzema was heavily tracked by Arsenal in the summer, and it is thought that the Gunners could land him in January if they pay the right price, believed to be close to £50m.
