Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho revealed that he was impressed with Portugal international winger Bruma following Galatasaray’s 5-2 defeat against the Red Devils on Saturday.

The 21-year-old scored against the Premier League giants putting Galatasaray 2-1 ahead going into the half-time break.

The goal was his his sixth goal in his five pre-season games over the summer period and recently appointed Lions head coach Jan Olde Riekerink has made it clear that Bruma will play an important role in his side next season.

Bruma revealed that United boss Jose Mourinho held a meeting with Bruma following the match.

The Galatasaray youngster told reporters in the mixed zone after the game that the Portuguese manager asked to speak to him.

“He congratulated me for the performance and said he was impressed with me. He promised to closely monitor my work and said I could play for the national team soon,” he told Fanatik.

A source close to the player told Emre Sarigul that the club want to keep hold of Bruma this summer and that they have already rejected offers. The Istanbul giants value Bruma as being worth €25 million but feel they would not receive offers matching their valuation until next summer.

Bruma struggled at Galatasaray during the era of former manager Cesare Prandelli and was loaned out to Real Sociedad last season.
