It’s a bit of a Twitter in-joke, but you can spot in much of Graeme Souness’ punditry that he has a bit of an issue with Manchester United star Paul Pogba.
It could be that age-old Liverpool-Manchester United rivalry coming through, with the two clubs long hating each other and Souness perhaps still feeling a strong connection with the Reds from his playing days.

Either that or the Scot is simply being a typical grumpy old man who can’t relate to modern footballers like Pogba who like to indulge in sins against traditional masculinity by changing their hair every now and then, dancing on Instagram and generally look like they’re enjoying life rather than enduring it.
Whatever it is, Souness once again appears to have been shown up for his weird anti-Pogba agenda, as this video clip below shows him looking absolutely devastated that the France star got his hands on the World Cup yesterday.
We all had a joke and a laugh about how gutted Souness would be, but seriously, this is unreal.

There have been more than a few tweets doing the rounds involving Souness’ issues with Pogba, with the pundit now having to accept that maybe this flashy modern footballer can influence big games without being distracted by his hair or his social media following.
In case you missed it, the Red Devils midfielder had a great game for Les Bleus and got on the score-sheet as they won their second World Cup yesterday with a 4-2 victory over an impressive Croatia side.
Pray for Souness, who’ll have to think of something new to criticise about Pogba now…

Graeme Souness dismissed and mocked Paul Pogba as a “YouTube player” last season. Souness will now be able to search for him on YouTube as “Paul Pogba: World Cup winner”

If you’re feeling bad for Croatia just try to imagine how Graeme Souness if feeling right now. Months and months of Pogba criticism just to finish the season by watching him lift the biggest prize in football with a goal in the final and a fantastic individual campaign overall.

Pogba: I was thinking of my father whilst I was playing, I did this for him
Souness: He needs to focus on his football. His mind clearly isn't on the game.
