Celta de Vigo custodian Jose Manuel Pinto is certainly thanking his stars. He is currently starring for a team that is plying its trade in Spain’s second division but by the end of this month he could well be donning on the colours of one of Europe’s elite, namely FC Barcelona.
Sky Sports reports that Barca are close to cementing a deal with Celta over Pinto. Barca need a substitute goalkeeper for until the end of the season at least since Albert Jorquera ruptured crucial ankle ligaments last month and will miss out the remainder of the season. Victor Valdes is already the first choice custodian for Barca but Frank Rijkaard certainly requires a stand-in keeper.
The deal is yet to be finalized but in all likelihood the agreement will be reached sometime next week. After all, how could Pinto refuse to play for a club named FC Barcelona?
