Setanta Sports reports that Liverpool are ready to sell their 19-year old Bulgarian custodian Nikolay Mihaylov for £4 million this summer although the player has yet to feature for Rafael Benitez’s side.

The Premiership club signed Mihaylov from Levski Sofia for a paultry £225,000 last summer and immediately loaned him out to Eredivisie side FC Twente since the teenager failed to get a work permit in the UK. He has been performing greatly since then so much so that Twente are ready to sign him on a permanent contract. But it is unlikely that the modest Dutch club would be able to rope in on the amount demanded by Liverpool.

Mihaylov says:

Liverpool have asked for such a high price, because they wanted to discourage Twente from buying me. I expect to join Liverpool in July, because my visa problems will be settled by then.

Liverpool may as well keep the Bulgarian youngster at Anfield. First choice custodian Pepe REina is expected to move out soon and the club needs a young and enthusiastic goalkeeper who would be able to take on the mantel then.
