Liverpool’s Fernando Torres is gradually turning out to be the Messiah for the Merseyside. He scored a sensational hat-trick against Middlesbrough last month and was back with another hat-trick on Wednesday at Anfield against West Ham United in the Premiership, earning this praise from his manager Rafael Benitez:
He is a key player but the same as Gerrard, Carra, Reina he does his job scoring goals. He is a good player has confidence and I think he is on fire.
Rafa adds this about the match:
I think the team was really good, a great performance and everything was good. The stadium full of people on a Wednesday and for supporters it is really good to see Torres scoring goals and Gerrard and the team playing well.
When you know you have one game in hand everybody can talk about the three points but you need to win and now at least we have three more points and we are very pleased.
Liverpool have gone level on points with Everton in fourth as the race to finish in the top four of the Premiership table intensifies. Liverpool have run into some great form of late and are certainly the favourites to clinch that prized spot.
