Sir Alex Ferguson looks to freshen up Old Trafford midfield.
Man United are readying a move to pounce for Barcelona youngster Thiago Alcantara after the 21 year old declared his intention to leave the Nou Camp. The Daily Mail believe that Sir Alex Ferguson will look to land the £15m rated Spanish international this summer.
The talented midfielder is apparently concerned about the lack of first team action he is being offered and is ready to leave the Nou Camp in search of regular starts as he looks to push his way into Vicente del Bosque’s national team set-up having not won a cap in over a year.
Thiago has been handed just nine La Liga starts thus far this season and continues to fight the likes of Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Cesc Fabregas for a spot in Tito Vilanova’s side.
Man United could well do with an added spark of creativity and Ferguson may be keen to freshen up a midfield that is perhaps a little too brittle. Michael Carrick has been a mainstay in the centre of the park but the likes of Tom Cleverley, Anderson, Darren Fletcher and Paul Scholes have shared duties in the first team set-up this term.
Thiago is into his fifth season in the Barcelona first team but has amassed just 35 La Liga starts in the process and the chance to re-ignite his career at Old Trafford may well be tempting for the Italian born playmaker.
