Figo pours cold water on specualtion linking Portuguese boss with a return to the San Siro.
Inter Milan’s Luis Figo has denied reports linking Jose Mourinho with a return to the club according to Tutto Mercato Web.
The former Portuguese winger is currently the Italian giant’s Sporting Director and discussed recent reports of a return to Inter for Real Madrid boss Mourinho.
Figo insisted that such a scenario was currently impossible despite the wishes of the club’s fans.
He pointed out that a second spell at the club has no guarantees of being like the first and that it has not yet been confirmed that Mourinho will leave Real Madrid.
Mourinho has been widely tipped to leave the Spanish giants at the end of the current season as Madrid have failed to keep pace with rivals Barcelona in the race for the La Liga title.
The Special One has also endured a fractured relationship with senior players in the Real Madrid dressing room with Spanish newspaper Marca reporting in January that club captains Iker Casillas and Sergio Ramos had informed club officials that they would be handing in transfer requests should Mourinho remain in charge at the beginning of next season.
Figo did offer some optimism for Inter fans though be hinting that he would be interested in bringing Manchester City’s David Silva to the club.
