Italian giants in pole position to sign young striker.
Inter Milan are reportedly at the front of a queue of clubs to sign Sampdoria’s Mauro Icardi according to talkSport.
The Serie A giants have reportedly stolen a march on their rivals in the race for the 20 year old striker’s signature.
Icardi has burst onto the scene with Sampdoria this season and has reportedly been attracting the attention of a number of Premier League sides.
Manchester City are reported to have been monitoring the player’s availability as they ponder a potential summer move for Icardi.
But City look set to face a battle to sign the player with a number of clubs keen to keep Icardi in Italy.
Juventus and Napoli are both thought to be ready to make an approach for Icardi but it now appears that Inter Milan are closing in on a deal for the player.
The Italian press have pointed to social media network Twitter for proof that the San Siro side are close to securing a deal for the player.
Inter Milan’s twitter account follows just twenty five other accounts and neither of those are professional footballers.
But the club broke that rule on Wednesday when they mysteriously starting following Icardi’s account on the social media network.
