Veteran defender Carragher may now play one more season at Anfiel after all.
Liverpool centre-back Jamie Carragher could reverse his decision to hang up his boots at the end of the season and play on for one more campaign with the Merseyside club, says the Sun.
The 35-year-old defender announced earlier this year that this would be his final-ever season with the Reds after 17 years at Anfield.
However, Liverpool head coach Brendan Rodgers says that the former England international could decide to change his mind after a series of outstanding displays at the back for the club since the turn of the year, when Carragher came back into the first team to replace the out-of-favour Slovakia international Martin Skrtel.
Carragher, who will make a final decision on his future come the summer, has featured in 19 Premier League games under Rodgers this season, and 33 matches in all competitions, with the Reds’ win percentage substantially higher when the defender has been in the team than when he has been absent.
