Liverpool will attempt to lure Loic Remy from relegation-threatened QPR.Liverpool are the latest club to be linked with Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy, who could be available for £8million this summer, according to the Daily Mail.
Arsenal had been the favourite to land the French striker, who only joined Rangers from Marseille in January, but Brendan Rodgers is ready to step up his interest in the forward, as he looks to strengthen his team to push on for a Champions League place next season.
Liverpool could do with extra options upfront, as they have at times been over-reliant on star striker Luis Suarez, who is currently the Premier League’s top scorer as well as a candidate for PFA Player of the Year.
Suarez’s displays have alerted several top clubs around Europe, and if Liverpool fail to keep the Uruguayan at Anfield then Rodgers might already feel he has to plan for life without him with his interest in Remy.
A move for the QPR man could also signal the end of Andy Carroll’s time at Anfield. The former Newcastle striker has spent this year on loan at West Ham and is unlikely to be in Rodgers’ plans for next season.
