Arsenal and Liverpool target looks set to remain at Nou Camp for another year.
Barcelona look ready to disappoint the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool by forcing their goalkeeper Victor Valdes into staying at the club for another season according to The Mirror.
The Spanish goalkeeper shocked many in Barcelona when he revealed his intention to leave the club.
Valdes is reportedly keen to pursue new challenges and informed the Barcelona hierarchy that he will not be signing a new contract.
Valdes still has just over a year left to run on his current deal but it was thought that Barcelona would look to cash in on him this summer rather than lose him on a free transfer at the end of next season.
But the Catalan giants have been frustrated in their search for a replacement for Valdes and feel they have been unable to find an adequate replacement for the Spanish stopper.
The La Liga leaders have warned Valdes that they are ready to make him stay on for another season and see out his contract at the Nou Camp should they fail to find someone to fill the gap he will leave.
That news will come as a disappointment to Arsenal and Liverpool who have both been linked with the player in recent weeks.
