Spurs and Liverpool in for young forward.
Tottenham have joined the chase for Liverpool target Cristian Tello, with rumours hotting up that the young forward could leave Barcelona this summer.
According to talkSPORT, the 21-year-old is likely to leave the Nou Camp following news of the signing of Neymar, who will undoubtedly make it tougher for Tello to maintain a place in the club’s starting lineup.
Tello had already been linked with moves away, as his minimum release fee clause of just £8million is said to be tempting to a number of top clubs, and he is now even more likely to see a move away from Barcelona as essential to his development.
Liverpool and Spurs have also been linked with Tello’s Barcelona team-mate David Villa, who is at the other end of his career and no longer part of Tito Vilanova’s long term plans at the club.
Despite being confirmed as La Liga champions yesterday, Barca are likely to make wholesale changes to their squad this summer after a disappointing second half of the season, where their over-reliance on Lionel Messi was illustrated, and they failed to compete against bigger teams.
The signing of Neymar should improve the club’s fortunes next season, but there are still a number of their current squad who will probably be sold to fund moves for more new players.
