Anfield side keen on Ghanaian international.
Liverpool are believed to have tabled a bid for FC Porto winger Christian Atsu according to Sky Sports sources.
The Anfield side are said to be leading the chase to sign the young Ghanaian international who has been frozen out of FC Porto action in recent weeks after refusing to pen a new contract.
Brendan Rodgers is reportedly very keen to sign the 21 year old and that talks are ongoing with the Merseyside club and Atsu’s Estadio Dragao employers.
Everton and Arsenal are also linked with interest in Atsu, who joined Porto in 2009.
Astu has previously spoken of his desire to ply his trade in the Premier League and will decide his future after upcoming national team matches next month.
Interest in bringing in another winger could lead some to ponder the future of the likes of Stewart Downing and Oussama Asaidi, both of whom have had mixed seasons. Brendan Rodgers may also consider loaning out teenager Raheem Sterling who has been rested from regular Premier League football after the youngsters meteoric rise to the Liverpool first team set-up.
Atsu managed just nine Primeira Liga starts this season as his FC Porto side edged out Benfica to win the title for a third season running.
