Belgian youngster keen for one more year in Spain.
Thibault Courtois has informed Chelsea that he wants one more year in the Spanish capital before returning to the club according to The Metro.
The Belgian youngster has spent the last season out on loan at Atletico Madrid where he has put in a number of highly impressive performances.
Courtois’ displays have helpe Atletico to a Copa del Rey title as well as booking their place in next season’s Champions League.
His performances have not gone unnoticed with the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid thought to be monitoring the youngster’s progress.
But Chelsea have insisted they are keen to hold on to Courtois and consider the youngster to have an important future at the club.
Courtois knows he is currently unlikely to displace Petr Cech from the Chelsea first team but is looking to become first choice keeper sooner rather than later, whether that be at Chelsea or not.
It is thought that the Stamford Bridge side are keen for Courtois to spend another season out on loan, but it has been suggested that Chelsea officials would prefer that to be in the Premier League.
But Courtois has taken to social media site Twitter to tell Atletico fans he is keen to return to the club next season.
