White Hart Lane club keen to add to their striking options.
Tottenham have begun talks over a £10 million move for Barcelona striker David Villa according to The Daily Mail.
The White Hart Lane club are keen to add to their squad in the coming months after being pipped to a fourth place finish by Arsenal on the final day of the season.
Club officials are keen to prevent a repeat occurrence next season and are looking to bring in a few quality signings to bolster the squad.
Villa has been widely linked with a move to the Premier League after suffering with injury in recent seasons at the Nou Camp. The arrival of Neymar in Barcelona is likely to add to the already fierce competition which could persuade Villa of the merits of Premier League football.
It is thought that the likes of Arsenal and Swansea are also interested in the Spanish forward and could well provide Spurs with competition for Villa’s signature.
Tottenham have also reportedly stepped up their interest in Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao. The club have been following the Internacional man for a while now and it appears they may finally be nearing a deal to get their man during the coming months.
