Anfield side keen on World Cup winner.
Spanish source Marca claims that Liverpool are to join the race to sign highly rated Sevilla winger Jesus Navas this summer.
The Anfield side are said to be keen on the Spanish international and Brendan Rodgers may well see the 27 year old as one of his top transfer targets though it won’t be cheap to land the talented wide-man.
The Marca claim that the one club man has a €35m (£29m) release clause and that Sevilla are unlikely to accept offers less than this which may prove something of a stumbling block for the Merseyside outfit.
Rodgers has stated publicly that he will not be handed a transfer war-chest on par with those his predecessors were given and as such a move for a player valued so highly could prove very problematic.
Liverpool will have been pleased with the form shown by January attacking additions Daniel Sturridge and Coutinho but may still feel they could do with improving their options in wide areas with Stewart Downing having an up and down campaign and Oussama Assaidi barely getting a look in.
Navas is a hugely experienced performer who has racked up almost 400 appearances for the Sevilla side he has represented since the age of 15, he also has 15 national team caps to his name and may feel that a high profile move to Liverpool could aid his chances of a more prominent role in Vicente del Bosque’s Spanish side.
