Crystal Palace and West Ham seek loan move for young defender.
Premier League duo Crystal Palace and West Ham may make moves to sign young Barcelona defender Marc Bartra on loan next season, according to talkSPORT.
The 22-year-old is highly rated at the Nou Camp, and is tipped to be the natural successor to Barca legend Carles Puyol, though the club are keen for him to get more first team experience next season.
Bartra could actually be available on a permanent deal, as his contract with Barcelona runs out at the end of the season, though talks are in place to tie him down to a new four-year deal.
Crystal Palace are particularly keen to strengthen their squad this summer after winning promotion from the Championship to the Premier League via the playoffs, and a defender from a club of Barcelona’s size is sure to go down well at Selhurst Park.
West Ham are also eyeing defenders this summer as they look to build on a strong finish of tenth in their first season back in the top flight.
Before making a move, Bartra will represent Spain at the UEFA European Under-21 Championships in Israel this summer.
