PSG and Barcelona are the latest clubs to be credited with an interest in Tottenham star Gareth Bale, according to the Sun.
Real Madrid have been believed to be leading the chase for the Welshman for the last few months, but are now joined by a whole host of clubs who believe they may be able to prize him away from Spurs.
Manchester United had been Real’s main competitors for the 23-year-old, who was voted both PFA and Football Writers’ Player of the Year this season, but Manchester City, Chelsea, and now PSG and Barcelona have all stepped up their interest.
The demand for Bale has seen his value shoot up to around £80million, which would make him level with current Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo as the most expensive player of all time.
Barcelona have already secured one of the signings of the summer in Neymar, but are keen to compete with their La Liga rivals Madrid for another world class star.
Meanwhile, big-spending PSG fancy their chances of out-spending their rivals for the former Southampton youngster, and have made him one of several targets that also include Ronaldo and unsettled Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.
Real Madrid already seem to be preparing to miss out on Bale by targeting Liverpool’s Luis Suarez as alternative option.
