New Barcelona signing rejected advances from English clubs.
New Barcelona signing Neymar has revealed that he rejected the chance to move to the Premier League, according to the Daily Express.
The 21-year-old is one of the most talked about young players in world football at the moment, and ended a long transfer saga by signing for Spanish giants Barcelona last month.
The Santos striker has revealed that he chose a move to the Nou Camp over the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City and Chelsea as his family advised him to move to somewhere where there is stability, appearing to be critical of clubs who regularly change their managers.
“My family spoke to me about joining a club where you could not just win things but where there is stability,” he said. “I don’t want to play for a club that changes coach every season.”
Real Madrid and Chelsea are particularly guilty of chopping and changing in that department, and all three teams mentioned will start next season with new managers once again.
Barcelona, meanwhile, look set to stick with current boss Tito Vilanova, despite an uncertain season from his side, who looked to have regressed following the departure of Pep Guardiola.
