Liverpool will readily accept offers for wantaway striker Luis Suarez but only if those offers are over £50m according to the Guardian.

The Anfield side believe that given they received £50m for Fernando Torres in January 2011 that they deserve a greater fee for Suarez, who is younger than the Spaniard was when he left for Stamford Bridge and in a richer vein of form.

Real Madrid are said to be the front-runners in the chase for the Uruguayan international, who has openly stated that it would be ‘hard to say no’ to the Spanish giants if they did indeed make their interest in his services known.

In today’s transfer market one would imagine that £50m is more than a fair price for a player who finished last term with 30 goals in all competitions though clearly the former Ajax man comes with a fair amount of baggage, as well as the remaining portion of six games from the original ten match ban he received for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic.

Brendan Rodgers would be loathed to lose his most effective attacking option but given the comments made by Luis Suarez it does seem the striker may have burned his Liverpool bridges and an exit does seem likely.
