Vincent Kompany is looking to see his team sign new players during summer so that they can look to win back the Premier League.

Sky Sports reports that Kompany is looking for the club to invest heavily because of the amount of clubs that could be challenging for the Premier League title.

Kompany said, “I’ve seen every single club strengthen every season. Teams can come from nowhere and win the league,”

“You cannot rule out Liverpool, Tottenham and even Everton were really good this year. Then you have the usuals like Arsenal, Chelsea and United”.

Manchester City lost the Premier League title to bitter rivals Manchester United by 11 points.

One of the reasons for such a limp defence of the title was the lack of top quality players signed by City last year.

The Sky Blues missed out on many of their top transfer targets including Robin Van Persie, who went to Manchester United, and Eden Hazard who went to Chelsea.

Manchester City will hope that they can sign stronger players this summer with the club linked to Sevilla winger Jesus Navas and Malaga playmaker Isco.

A replacement for manager Roberto Mancini is set to be named soon, with Malaga’s Manuel Pellegrini said to be in talks with the City hierarchy.
