Centre-back wanted by wealthy French side Monaco.
Monaco look to set to flex their financial muscles once again this summer according to The Guardian.
The wealthy French side have been causing waves in the football world after splashing the cash on a number of new players this summer.
Monaco raised a few eyebrows when they announced they had signed former Porto pair Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez. Atletico Madrid’s Colombian sensation Radamel Falcao looks set to follow them to the club with the likes of Barcelona’s Victor Valdes and Real Madrid’ Ricardo Carvalho also having been linked with the Ligue 2 champions.
It appears that Liverpool’s Daniel Agger has now been added to the list of potential new arrivals in the principality.
The Danish international has reportedly attracted the interest of the French side as they look to build a team capable of challenging for honours on both domestic and European fronts.
Liverpool are desperate to hang on to Agger though and are ready to pull out all the stops to keep him at Anfield.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is already in the market for a new centre back following the retirement of Jamie Carragher and is reportedly not keen on limiting his defensive options even further.
