Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet wants to leave the club in search of a bigger challenge according to the players agent.

Sky Sports reports that although Sunderland want to hang onto their goalkeeper they may be forced to sell with Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool all interested in the players signature.

Mignolet has a contract with the Black Cats until 2015, but the players agent has said it is unlikely that he will stay, stating that the player would like to test himself at a bigger club.

“I think it is very unlikely that he will sign a new contract,” said Nico Vaesen, Mignolet’s agent.

“Simon has obviously come to a point where he wants to step up a level and there is a lot of interest in him”.

The Belgian goalkeeper is known to want to be a part of his national teams World Cup squad next summer and a place at a big club like Arsenal or Manchester United could help secure that.

Mignolet was a key player for Sunderland last season, producing a host of impressive performances that helped to keep the Black Cats in the Premier League.

Following those impressive performances, teams like Arsenal are said to be looking into signing the Belgian to improve their goalkeeping resources.
