Liverpool have reportedly agreed personal terms with highly rated Sevilla youngster Luis Alberto according to Spanish source El Mundo Deportivo.

The 20 year old was loaned out to Barcelona’s B team greatly impressing, finishing last term with 11 goals in the Spanish second tier.

Alberto has played La Liga football with Sevilla and is capped at Under 21 level and has apparently agreed terms on a four year deal with Liverpool though the Anfield side are still in discussions with the Andalusian side over a fee for the Spaniard.

Sevilla are said to be after £7.5m whilst Liverpool are open to a fee in the region of £6.7m, so clearly not a massive difference in the two valuations, leaving many to believe a deal will be struck.

Brendan Rodgers is clearly a manager who adheres to Liverpool’s youthful transfer policy and may well be keen to strengthen his attack given Luis Suarez is suspended for the first six games of the season and Daniel Sturridge is sidelined with an injury suffered whilst on international duty.

Liverpool have already signed Kolo Toure on a free transfer from Man City and are expected to bring in Celta Vigo forward Iago Aspas.
