The Barcelona midfielder is reportedly close to joining Manchester United.
Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has said that Thiago Alcantara is a “big talent” having watched him in several games according to Goal.com.
The midfielder is reportedly close to joining United and linking up with Giggs after Barcelona and the Red Devils agreed a £15 million fee for the highly-rated play-maker.
Thiago has emerged as one of David Moyes main transfer targets this summer and United goalkeeper David De Gea has reportedly been trying to persuade Thiago to join him at Old Trafford.
Now Giggs has given his endorsement for what could be his new team-mate.
I’ve seen him in several games,” Giggs told Marca.
“He’s a good player. But there’s always a lot of speculation with United and good players. We’ll see if it happens in the end, but he’s a big talent.”
Thiago played a key part in the Spanish under 21 side that won the European Championship, having scored a hat-trick in the final against Italy as Spain won 4-2.
Thiago is now looking for more first-team football as he tries to force his way into next summers World Cup squad.
He feels first team football is not something he will get at Barca, having only played a small part in the clubs La Liga victory last season.
Should he move to Old Trafford, the Spaniard will be playing much more regularly and could form the centre-piece of David Moyes new-look midfield.
