The striker has had a fantastic first season in the Premier League for Aston Villa.
Liverpool and Tottenham have both made moves to sign highly-rated striker Christan Benteke from Aston Villa, Goal.com understands.
The striker had a terrific first season in the Premier League, scoring the goals that kept Aston Villa from being relegated and although Villa have offered the striker a new contract, Benteke looks set to move to another club.
Liverpool are bracing themselves for the probability that Luis Suarez could leave the club this summer for Real Madrid and have lined up Benteke as a replacement for the Uruguayan international
Spurs are also interested in the Villa front-man after their interest in Leo Damiao waned and are willing to offer Benteke a considerable raise on his current £20,000 a week contract.
Although the striker has two years left on his current contract, Villa’s hierarchy fear that they will have to sell Benteke if the striker says that he wants to move away from club.
Beneteke signed for Villa last summer for £8 million and scored 19 league goals, helping Aston Villa remain in the Premier League.
It looks as though Benteke’s short career at Villa Park could be over soon, with Borussia Dortmund also thought to be monitoring the strikers situation.
