Nou Camp side make tempting offer for Old Trafford forward.
Barcelona are set to make an offer they hope will persuade Man United to cash in on striker Wayne Rooney according to Sport.es.
The Nou Camp side are ready to offer €25m (£21m) plus experienced striker David Villa in exchange for England man Wayne Rooney, a move that could well tempt David Moyes, especially if the Old Trafford boss feels that he is powerless to resolve the broken relationship between the club and Rooney.
Barcelona boss Tito Vilanova may well have a desire to form a lethal front three of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Wayne Rooney and can therefore afford to offer Villa as part of any offer for the 27 year old Man United star.
The offer of 31 year old Villa as well as cash could also suit Moyes as clearly he would want to replace Rooney with another striking option in any eventuality if the Man United striker were to leave the club this summer.
David Moyes has the likes of Robin Van Persie, Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck to call upon if he does indeed consider the possibility of losing Rooney, who reportedly made a verbal request to leave Man United in the final weeks of the 2012/13 season.
Rooney has netted 197 goals in 401 appearances for Man United.
