Liverpool midfielder Suso has joined La Liga returnees Almeria on loan for the forthcoming season, Sky Sports reports.

The 19-year-old had been tipped for a bight future at Anfield after signing on from Cadiz back in 2010, however, he has not made the impact that he would have liked with the Reds, making a total of just 20 appearances in his three years at the club.

Brendan Rodgers still sees something in him, though, after offering him a new long term deal last October, and he has now sent him back to Spain on loan to gain some much needed first team experience, even hinting that a good showing could see him feature more frequently when he returns.

Almeria secured their return to the Spanish top flight by qualifying through the playoffs after finishing third behind Elche and Villarreal and they will see his signing as a coup having represented Spain at several youth levels and gaining a smattering of European experience last season with Brendan Rodgers’ men.

He made his debut last September in a Europa League clash against Swiss side Young Boys, before coming off the bench to face bitter rivals Manchester United three days later, however, he has since seen him path blocked by Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge who both joined the club during the January transfer window.
