Liverpool are poised to make a bid for Galatasaray forward Burak Yilmaz as the Premier League side look to rebuild their squad for a Champions League push this coming season according to the Metro.

Brendan Rodgers has begun to put his own methods into place at Liverpool as his passing style has helped players, such as Brazilian midfielder Countinho, shine in recent months.

The Reds boss has now drawn up a list of potential summer signings who can play upfront to replace unsettled forward Luis Suarez.

The want away Uruguayan has been strongly linked with big money moves to Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid already this summer, with big spending PSG also eyeing a move for the forward. The 26 year old was arguably Liverpool’s best player last season despite his controversial actions on the pitch – such as biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic during their heated Premier League tie back in April.

Yilmaz is at the top of Liverpool’s priority list after his impressive year with the Turkish champions Galatasaray, putting in some world class performances against Europe’s best in the Champions League too.

The 27 year old has bagged 32 goals in just 39 appearances since his arrival from Trabzonspor last season.

The Turkish clubs’ president, Unal Aysal, has already told reporters Yilmaz is only for sale for the ‘right price’ this summer.

“We have set a price for Burak Yilmaz. We will only consider an offer which is in the best interests of the club and player,” Aysal reluctantly told the media.

“If Burak wants to leave, and our transfer demands are matched, we could accept a deal.”
