Sporting Lisbon are prepared to sell reported Liverpool target Diego Capel for a fee of €7million, according to Portuguese source A Bola.

The Spanish midfielder has been made available for transfer, as Brendan Rodgers looks to add to his midfield options. The Reds have been tracking Capel for a number of months now, and the Reds are ready to make a move for him, amid rumours that French side Marseille are also keen on signing the winger.

The French side have had offers of £2million and £3million turned down for the 25-year old winger, but the Metro reports that Liverpool are preparing a bid in excess of £6million for the Spaniard, nearing the asking price Lisbon have demanded for his transfer. Suffering from financial difficulties, Lisbon are forced to sell Capel this summer.

Liverpool see Capel as competition for Stewart Downing on the wing, as they look to add to their attacking options so they can mount a Champions League push this season. Capel will replace the outgoing Oussama Assaidi. The flop winger joined last summer from SC Heerenveen but has failed to make an impact at the club, and looks set to return to Holland.

The Reds are also closing in on the signing of Atletico Madrid forward Diego Costa in a £21.8million deal. Madrid, who are also keen on signing Capel this summer, are believed to be willing to let Costa leave this summer as Liverpool have met his rumoured release clause.
