Chilean could be in for surprise starts.
Young Manchester United striker Angelo Henriquez could be handed the chance to compete for a first team spot at the club after David Moyes was impressed by his attitude during pre season and his efforts during their 1-1 draw with AIK Stockholm, Sky Sports reports.
Henriquez joined the club last summer but failed to make an impact and was subsequently sent out on loan to Wigan Athletic where he also struggled, managing just one goal in four Premier League appearances for the Latics.
However, Moyes was impressed with the 19-year-old’s improvement over the summer and watched as he took his chance against the Swedish side by scoring his first goal for the club.
“He didn’t come on tour with us so this was the first time I had a chance to see him,” said Moyes.
“He was ready when we came back from the tour and I thought he did well.
“Now we’ll get the chance to work with him.”
Henriquez came from Chilean side Universidad de Chile where he had a high reputation, bagging 11 goals in his first 17 games. His impressive record for the Chilean under-21 side stands at 21 goals in 17 appearances, whilst he is one for one for the full squad.
