The second round stage of the Capital One Cup was drawn on Thursday afternoon and has already thrown up some interesting fixtures.
Liverpool, who are eight-time winners of the trophy, have been drawn against Notts County in what will be the first encounter between the two in 21-years.
Inaugural winners of the competition Aston Villa will face Rotherham United, who they defeated in the final of that first tournament, whilst Newcastle will visit Morecambe for the first competitive match between the two sides as Alan Pardew’s side look for cup glory.
All ties will be played on the week commencing August 26 and all other Premier League sides (those involved in Europe) will feature in the third-round draw.
