Manchester United are ready to step up their activity in the transfer market by making offers for three of their top summer targets according to The Daily Mail.

United boss David Moyes has largely been frustrated in the transfer market this summer as he looks to put his own stamp on the team after he took over from Sir Alex Ferguson.

The club were strongly linked to Spain under-21 captain Thiago Alcantrara, only for the youngster to join Bayern Munich instead at the last minute.

So far, attempts to sign his former Barcelona team-mate, Cesc Fabregas, have proved fruitless, but with the season starting in less than ten days, the club are ready to pull out all the stops in order to bring in some fresh faces into the dressing room.

Another bid will be made for Fabregas, who is expected to reveal his intentions regarding whether he would be interested in a move in the coming days.

A bid will also be offered to Moyes’ former club Everton for Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini. Everton are keen to hold on to the duo though and will demand a fee at least in excess of £30 million.

At the same time, Moyes will have to mull over the prospect of striker Wayne Rooney potentially handing in a transfer request as he looks to secure a move to Chelsea.
