Chelsea defender David Luiz is to force through a move away from Stamford Bridge as Spanish giants Barcelona are looking to build for their fight to overthrow Bayern Munich from their throne according to the Daily Star.

British media outlet Daily Star claim the fresh reports that Barca want the 26 year-old – following their £35million bid this week – have tempted Luiz into searching for a move away from the Premier League’s most recent Champions League winners [when they beat Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena in 2012].

Newly appointed Blues boss Jose Mourinho still believes there is no chance that his Brazil international will be parting ways with him this summer, following the former Madrid and Inter boss’ reappointment at Stamford Bridge.

“David has come back with us fantastically and we have to use his quality,” Jose told reporters.

“He has big self-confidence and self-esteem, especially when he comes up from the back with the ball. Can he improve defensively? Of course. But it is my job to try always to improve players.”

Despite his recent comments, it is thought next week will be when the Brazilian makes his feelings known to Roman Abramovich, with Mundo Deportivo [Spanish media outlet] claiming he will aim to push through a deal due to his dream of playing for Europe’s best.

The manager merry-go-round at the London club may not have made the star feel secure about his role either, as Mourinho is always a difficult character to judge – and it would not surprise me if he opted to play Cahill and Ivanovic instead.
