Hoops boss looking at Northern Ireland international.
QPR manager Harry Redknapp has admitted that he is hoping to be able to bring midfielder Chris Baird to the club following his exit from west London neighbours Fulham this summer, Sky Sports reports.
Now a free agent, the 31-year-old is currently out of work and would be able to link up with Rangers at any time, and a move would likely suit both parties as he has been training with the club following his exit from Craven Cottage.
He had been training with QPR in a bid to keep his fitness up and place himself in the shop window after a number of Premier League teams were reported to be interested in taking him on board, but so far no moves have materialised and signing on under Redknapp could now be his most viable option.
Redknapp has already stated that he wants to bring in an experienced defender to help steady the ship as they look to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking and the former Spurs manager has admitted that he is a fan of the 61-cap Northern Irish international.
“I like Chris Baird,” he said.
“He knows what he’s doing and he’s a good player. I’d like to do something with him.”
