Spanish Champions to appeal to ‘keeper’s emotional side.
Barcelona are hoping to hatch a plan to keep Victor Valdes at the club and the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Monaco away from him, the Express reports.
The two Premier League sides have been linked with a move for the Spanish international all summer long after he was widely tipped to make an exit from the Camp Nou during the transfer window.
Monaco had also been tipped to make a move for the 31-year-old as part of their big spending recruitment drive, but the Catalan giants managed to keep hold of him for another season at least.
A number of clubs are said to still be circling him after he announced that he would be leaving next summer once his contract expires, however, according to Spanish paper Sport, which has connections with Barca, claim the club are going to make an emotional mosaic to convince him to stay.
They also note the club are going to plug a social networking campaign on Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #Valdésquédate.
Valdes has made no secret of his desire to move on from the club in order to experience new cultures as well as new football leagues.
