La Liga champions Barcelona are the latest big club to be linked with a move for highly-rated Derby County midfielder Will Hughes, according to the Daily Express.
The 18-year-old has established himself as one of the most talented young players in England over the last couple of years with his superb displays for the Championship side, and has recently been linked with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United.
However, Barcelona now look set to join the chase for Hughes this January, and the skillful playmaker’s playing style could be a perfect fit for the Catalan giants.
Hughes has previously been compared with Barcelona pair Xavi and Andres Iniesta in his intelligence and vision, and may yet get the chance to learn from his idols if he makes a surprise move to the Nou Camp.
Derby manager Steve McClaren has recently admitted the club may have to listen to offers for the England Under-21 international if big clubs come calling this January, and Barcelona are prepared to rival Liverpool and United for his signature.
Liverpool failed with an £8m bid for Hughes in the summer, and it is thought that it could take £15m to land the exciting youngster.
