Bayern forward not seeking move to Nou Camp.
Bayern Munich star Thomas Mueller has moved to dismiss rumours that he is interested in moving to Barcelona, according to Inside Futbol.
The 24-year-old has been a key part of the side at Bayern since rising through the club’s youth ranks and becoming a regular in the senior side in 2009, and is now regarded as one of the best players in the world in his position.
His stock has risen even further following his superb displays for the Bavarian giants as they won the treble last season, and rumours had risen recently that he could be tempted by a move to Barcelona, after being spotted in the city.
Mueller has now insisted his trip was not linked in any way with discussing a move, saying: “I was in Barcelona, but my visit had nothing to do with discussions about a transfer.”
With Bayern looking likely to replace Barcelona as the dominant force in European football now, the suggestion that Mueller could leave his boyhood club for the Catalan giants did seem somewhat surprising, and it is likely that he will continue to play a key part in the team’s success under new manager Pep Guardiola.
Barcelona have been linked with some other big names ahead of January, including Arsenal starlet Jack Wilshere.
