QPR land defender on short-term deal.Queens Park Rangers have completed the signing of USA international defender Oguchi Onyewu on a short-term deal, BBC Sport reports.
The 31-year-old was a free agent after leaving Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon in the summer, and has previously played for the likes of AC Milan and Newcastle.
Onyewu earned himself a move to Loftus Road after training with the club for the last few weeks, and could become a useful player as Harry Redknapp’s side look to bounce straight back to the Premier League after their relegation last term.
Speaking about his joy at joining QPR, Onyewu said: “QPR are a club with huge ambitions to return to the Premier League and I wanted to be part of it.
“I had a really good feeling about QPR from the moment I arrived here. I’ve been welcomed by the club and I feel good here already.
“I’ve already integrated well into the group, so I’m looking forward to what will hopefully be a very successful and happy time here.”
