Anfield side target Ligue 1 forward.
Liverpool have today been linked with a January move for Marseille attacker Andre Ayew according to the Sunday Mirror.
The 22 year old Ghana international is apparently certain to leave the Stade Velodrome following the club’s poor start to the Ligue 1 season, Elie Baup’s side finished last term in second spot but currently sit ten points off the pace having already lost four matches.
Marseille are said to be ready to cash in on the £10m rated youngster and Brendan Rodgers is not the only Premier League boss said to be keen on Ayew, Alan Pardew also wants the forward.
Ayew has 18 months to run on his current contract and Marseille will look to sell him in January and Rodgers may feel that the speedy striker could add further strength in depth to his Anfield attack.
Though Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez have both been in fine form of late arguably Rodgers doesn’t have all that much in the way of effective back-up options with summer signing Iago Aspas failing to make an impact and Fabio Borini being loaned out to Sunderland after a poor first season at the club.
