Anfield side close in on young Ghanaian.
Liverpool look set to sign young Ghanaian Daniel Amartey as the 18 year old confirms he is in talks with the Anfield side ahead of a likely January move according to the Daily Star.
The youngster, who can play in defence or as a defensive midfielder, has attracted a great deal of attention with his displays for Swedish side Djurgarden IF
Though Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has added Aly Cissokho, Mamadou Sakho, Kolo Toure and Tiago Ilori to his defensive options over the summer, he has been attracted by the form shown by Amartey.
Liverpool are set to give the green-light for a £1.5m move for Amartey, who has confirmed he has already spoken to Rodgers about joining the Reds.
“I have been in contact with the Liverpool management,”
“I hope we can sort a transfer out – it’s a great club to play for.”
Amartey has made 22 appearances for Djurgarden so far, and the club hope they would be able to keep the starlet on loan for the remainder of the season.
