Napoli Plan January Bid to Sign Liverpool Defender Daniel Agger

Serie A side keen on Anfield star.

Check in to Liverpool vs Fulham

Former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is keen on reuniting with his former Anfield charge Daniel Agger with Napoli said to be looking to make an offer for the Dane according to talkSPORT.

The 28 year old has found himself warming the bench in recent weeks and may well be tempted by a fresh challenge if he feels unwanted at Liverpool.

Brendan Rodgers has opted for a back three of Martin Skrtel, Mamadou Sakho and Kolo Toure and there will be no shortage of interest in Agger if he gets tired of playing second fiddle at the Merseyside club.

Barcelona are said to be interested in the tough tackling centre-back, who can also play at full-back if necessary, and the chance to team up with Benitez may be one Agger considers, especially as Napoli are riding high in Serie A and are also competing in the Champions League.

It was Benitez who brought Agger to Liverpool back in January 2006 and having brought Pepe Reina in he may feel he has a decent shot at luring another of his former players to the San Paolo.
