Old Trafford side keen on Villa Park ace.
Man United are one of a trio of Premier League sides ready to make big money offers for Aston Villa forward Christian Benteke according to the Daily Star.
This source claims that Tottenham and Chelsea are also ready to offer £25m for the Belgian international, an offer Aston Villa may well have to consider, especially if the former Racing Genk man makes it clear he is open to a move in January.
Villa Park boss Paul Lambert persuaded Benteke to put pen to paper on a new four year deal just a few short months ago but an up and down start to the season may well leave the powerful marksman considering his options.
However there is apparently no release clause in the striker’s contract and as such there is no immediate pressure for the Midlands side to sell.
Benteke scored 23 goals in all competitions last term and the 19 he struck in the Premier League alone essentially pulled the club clear of the drop zone and David Moyes has personally scouted the forward, most recently during Aston Villa’s recent 2-0 win over Cardiff City.
Moyes may feel his side could do with further striking options to support Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney as Javier Hernandez may be growing increasingly frustrated at his lack of first team chances.
