The Brazilian international has been forced to settle with a limited role for the Blues this season as returning boss Jose Mourinho has preferred to go with Gary Cahill and John Terry as his centre-back pairing and Luiz has made just 11 appearances so far this term.
He had reportedly rejected the chance to join Barcelona over the summer but with his continued lack of first team action he may be forced to think again as the Catalonian side are still interested, but they have now also been joined by Bayern Munich in the race for his signature.
With the World Cup approaching the 27-year-old will be fast considering his options as he will not want to miss out on making the final squad, however, Chelsea may not be willing to sell as that would leave them with just Branislav Ivanovic as cover for Terry and Cahill.
But it seems that Luiz will face a tough task getting back into the starting XI should he decide to stay put.
