The Reds saw influential skipper Steven Gerrard limp out of last Saturday’s Premier League encounter with struggling West Ham United at Anfield, with it having since been confirmed that the England international has indeed torn his hamstring and is now facing at least a month on the sidelines.
However, that huge blow has since been made even worse by the news that fellow English midfielder Jordan Henderson is also facing a lengthy period out of action after sustaining a nasty looking injury to his ankle in the incident that led to Hammers captain Kevin Nolan receiving his marching orders on Merseyside last weekend.
The Reds are still awaiting the results of a scan on Henderson’s ankle before knowing the full extent of the damage, but the player looks like definitely missing Saturday’s huge Premier League encounter with Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.
And with further tricky encounters to come on the road against the likes of both Chelsea and Manchester City later this month, Liverpool head coach Brendan Rodgers will be praying that Henderson is not sidelined for too long a period of time.
